Relly quick Question

Im applying for the summer seminar and it states that if you apply for the seminar you are also applying to the academy. Well the problem I have is that I havent taken my SAT yet or finished my junoir year and i though that they wanted to know all that stuff (SAT scores and Junoir and senoir year grades and classes) when you apply to the academy?

So do I still tell them the rest of my achevments through the end of HS, my junoir and senoir year grades, SAT scores and other things after the Summer Seminar?

Once you get your online candidate kit, you will have to fill in your scores for the SATs and a bunch of other things.

Once you go from Applicant to Candidate, the USAFA will fill in the scores you got as well as put in your gpa as well as class size, etc.

*Note: Your Summer Seminar app is not your actual app to the Academy but rather a way that they can see if you have the potential to be a competitive Candidate.

If they think you do, that is when they send you your candidate kit starting in August.

*2nd Note: You would have figured these things out on your own =p

You basically update your admissions file and fill them in with your new grades and achievements as the year goes on.

Applying to SS basically just puts your name in the system, even if you aren't eventually accepted into the program. On the SS application, you should enter your PSAT or PLAN scores; plenty of kids at seminar hadn't taken the real SAT or ACT yet. If you don't have any standardized test scores to show the Academy, that could be a huge problem. It won't affect your application in the long run when you become a candidate for the class of 2012, but it may get you rejected from seminar. I hadn't taken the SAT when I applied to seminar (I didn't realize until too late what a big oversight that was), but if the rest of your resume is stellar then they'll let you in. You should have a resume that lists your current classes, grades, sports, leadership, and other extra-curriculars up to and including your junior year. Then in the summer before your senior year when you start your actual application to USAFA, you can build upon that resume with the activities and classes you plan to participate in your senior year.
