Reminder from Brown University

i wonder why they just didn't send all the emails out at once? Maybe they're doing it by state/area.

worried_mom,

Has your son checked the junk folder in his email account?

Yes, he did look there too. We also checked and Brown does have the correct email address for him. (He has received other emails from them when they needed some more info.)

I guess we'll wait another day or two and if he doesn't hear from them, he'll have to call the school on Monday.

worried_mom - My son's email was sent to my email address not his. He used his own email address on his apps, but he used mine when we visited and he requested the viewbook, and this would have been his first "contact" with Brown. Brown used his email when it was apps-related (acknowledging receipt of application, etc.), but we were quite surprised they used mine for this particular notification. Any chance your son may have used another email in requesting for information?

I live on the east coast and I got a 6:30 time slot.....

Is there any possiblity that the later timeslots= rejection

Because I know that stanford emailed acceptances b4 rejections for SCEA this year

ha, if that's the case, i'm rejected too. :/
6:30 here
i'm East Coast, last name starts with B

eww that would be very mean, but mine says 5:00 so there's hope?????
Haha who knows, we're being ridiculous

I think that reasoning that was first given about the server crashing is correct, so don't worry about it :D

I highly doubt that the time your decision is posted is related to whether you're accepted or not...So don't worry bout it. :)

Since there are much fewer accptances I am sure it is quicker to load.

The rejections take alot longer to load. So they might want to just get over with the acceptances.

I HOPE i am wrong though...

Mine said 5 p.m. your local time; however, the time zone where I am in is 12 hours ahead of the Eastern time zone. If the result comes out at 5 p.m. March 31 in my time zone, it would be 5 a.m. March 31 in the Eastern time zone? If the result comes out at 5 p.m. March 31 in the Eastern time zone, it would be 5 a.m. April 1 in my time zone ... Waiting is torturing ...

maybe the times were just random...?

Am I the only one who didn't get an email?

I think it has nothing to do with whether you're admitted or not... I just don't get the "your local time" part. How can it possibly work?

It was said on last year's posts that the decisions are released at the same time and that Brown puts different times in the emails in order to avoid possible problems for the servers.

If the decisions are available at 5 p.m. applicants' local time, March 31 ... do you think it is possible that the decision will be released on March 30?

hmmmmm so you're saying the decisions might all be available at the same time? They'd have to be available pretty early though - about 5am EST on March 31.

Oh, and i highly doubt that the time on the email corresponds with their decisions about people - in fact, I don't think they've even made all their decisions yet.

Do they really think we're going to check at the time they tell us. CCers are all going to be refreshing their screen every single minute, from the day before in case decisions come out early! Good luck to the brown server, may it not crash while all of us are trying to check our decisions. That would be painful.

Too bad it's a Monday, I'll have classes. Otherwise I will be refreshing the page every second, not caring about the time they told me in the email. I'm going to panic if the server crashes...

Yeah i'll go crazy if the server crashes - it will take the mail at least a week to get to where I live! Wow March 31 is approaching fast! Good luck everyone!

I think they're releasing the decisions in batches...just MHO
