If anyone does not already know - provided you meet the minimum requirements, you will have guaranteed acceptance at one of the 6 lower UC’s (any UC except Berkeley, LA, or SD). The app doesn’t take TOO long to fill out - but make sure to do it to have a backup! You will have to formally apply to the school that you are TAGing to.

Where are you tag’ing goldencub?
^Is that proper grammar?
And remember that if you find an error or forget to add something, whatever, you can always withdraw your tag, edit it, and then re-submit it as many times as you want (but I wouldnt recommend doing it like 50 times) AS LONG AS IT ISN’T PAST SEPTEMBER 30TH. After the TAG submission window closes, you can not withdraw and then re-submit.
@Orangered123 UCI!
TAGing is probably the best way to say it.
My husband’s is in for UCI!
It’s going to be torture until I hear back about it.
@boxandwhiskers How come? I thought you had a high GPA and whatnot?
pfft. No way. I thought it was but then after fixing stuff in my TAP my UC gpa is only a 3.48, possibly going to be a 3.5 by the end of this semester. Still clears me for TAG and i’ve cleared all of UC Davis’s TAG requirements so I don’t see why I wouldn’t get the TAG, but the again…I’m keeping my expectations low.
I’ll be happier once I finish out this semester and stop going to BCC and just finish out my time at CCSF
@boxandwhiskers ah, I have the opposite situation. Commuting to CCSF is awful for me, I wish I could study solely at BCC. Whatever.
CCSF is losing its accreditation right? I was considering taking a CS class there last summer but had no time to fit it in.
@napapapa no. It was threatened and is under review but they’re open and accredited.
They’re one of the largest CC’s in the state. There’s no way that they’ll lose their accreditation.
I just submitted my tag to UC Davis.
Then I got this email:
“Thank you for submitting your UC TAG application. TAG decisions will be released between November 1 - November 15.”
Davis actually sends out decisions earlier than Nov. 15?
What do you guys think are the chances of TAG’ing UCR 3.1 GPA sociology major (Non impacted)
@HonorMulan According to their website (http://admissions.ucr.edu/whyucr/ourguarantee), all you need is a 3.0. So you should be fine.
It’s nice we find out so soon afterwards, so then at least we know our back ups are good. Better than having to wait 4-5 months, make a decision in 1-2 more, and move in 2 months… ugh not too excited as this unravels, it’s going to be chaos at my house…
@sugarbabies3 Did you submit your TAG to UCI, or just your husband?
What sucks is that UCI doesn’t let you know if you’re admitted with tag until the regular acceptance release dates
@uciruby According to notes I have from two sources, Irvine alerts you in the first two weeks of November - in fact, closer to the first week.
You might be confusing pre-evaluation of coursework and approval from CCC advisor, which is required of 3 campuses. That is not the same as notification.
I just did a quick search and found a link noting the notification times for each campus a couple of years back:
