Renewable aid?

I am going to be a freshman in the fall at Tufts, and I was awarded funds through a "scholarship program" at Tufts for "demonstrat[ing] outstanding academic promise." It does not say, however, if this money is renewable every year (perhaps providing maintaining a certain gpa or whatever.) Does anybody have any experience with this type of aid from Tufts? I need to know so that I can properly inform an organization giving me an outside scholarship of my financial aid status.

Thanks.

You apparently need an absolute answer for this outside organization. Don’t risk it to advice from CC. Ask the appropriate office at Tufts (FinAid?) for the definitive answer.

well of course I wouldn’t take any answer here as absolute, but since the financial aid office is closed on the weekends, I figured I’d just see if anybody could tell me this from experience. I wouldn’t give an organization a definite answer based solely on information provided on a public forum. My question is motivated more by excitement to find out without having to wait until Monday to ask. Thanks for the concern though.

Ah, got it.
Hope the answer is positive.
And congrats both on getting into Tufts and on the grant. I know you’ll love it there.

thanks. I do Have one other question though. How does it work when a scholarship covers my work study amount? If I have say $2000 in federal work study, and its replaced with $2000 of outside scholarship money, what happens to my bill. Do they reduce the EFC by $2000? I mean, work study is paid to a person in the form of untaxed pay checks I believe, meaning it is not money you pay toward your bill to the school right? It is more along the lines of money to use for books, personal expenses, etc. I believe. So if it is covered, what happens?
