Accepted.
But my GPA is super low
SAT 2130 CR680 Math 800
SAT II Math 800 Chem 770 Physics 790
No AP
I applied for Design Innovation and Society
Is it a very unpopular major so I got in?

It doesn’t have anything on there except the checklist… what could that mean?

Son is accepted!

32 ACT, 4.165 W

Great EC’s and heavily into FIRST robotics.

Got $25,000 in merit/grants.

The check list page has a “view update” link. Click for your decision.

I don’t see that … it has nothing there.

Accepted MechEng. Where are you guys finding out about merit aid?–not that I deserve any

@drtechy, you applied to the BSMD program? I think it’s later for us

where did you guys find all this scholarship info? in the app status?

mbdarbin: underneath the acceptance letter there was a link- see below.
The line that says financial aid letter was a clickable link.
Same thing happened to my son with WPI- other people received merit with their decision letter but he didn’t receive his until a couple weeks later. It was very stressful- but don’t lose hope just give them a call on Monday and inquire if merit is still a possibility for you!
Good luck and congrats on acceptances everyone! :)

Multiple letters are on file for this account:
•Decision Letter - March 9, 2013 (displayed)

Great ECs

We got something around $25k Leadership Award/Grant, plus loans and work study - but it still leaves a lot to cover… Have to see what we can work out. Great school! Nice acceptance letter.

Great essay and recs

Accepted, but got a lousy scholarship and we’re not expecting a whole lot of FA, so RPI is off the list. Three schools left to hear from…

Accepted!! Architecture.

DS was waitlisted. Sort of surprised, but it’s ok as wasn’t a top choice.

To add data points for future applicants, here’s some of his info:

ACT 32 (superscore), including 34 M and 35 S
SATIIs - Math 2 - 720, Chem-750, Phys - 750
WGPA - 4.0
Top 5% of class
All around ECs - sports, music, comm service - with leadership.

I do know that others from his HS were accepted - maybe they didn’t want to outright accept so many from our school? Or maybe he just wasn’t competitive for BME? Either way, that’s why you have to cast a wide net in the app process - you just never know!

DS already has other great options. Good luck to all of you who attend RPI in the fall!

Just found out DS was accepted! No info yet on FA.

ACT 30
SATII Physics 750, Math2 720, French 670

Strong EC’s (orchestra, environmental, electronics, soccer)
Excellent recs & essays
Games/Interactive Media Major

DS accepted!

SAT II Math 2 800
SAT II Chem 760
Decent EC’s
RPI Medal Scholarship $30,800/yr
Congrats to all - we are still in decision mode…

Hi. How do you know what major you get in? I mean I got accepted but it did not show what major I got accepted.

Hi. How do you know what major you get in? I mean I got accepted but it did not show what major I got accepted.

My son also got accepted.

SATs were 2030 (780 Math)
Lower GPA but Eagle Scout, and a few activities.
Bicentennial Award for $23,000 and an unsubstitzed loan.

When I received the financial aid package and it spelled out the 60K + for the year… and our contribution at $33K a year…my head pounded.
Still waiting on two schools… but the decision will have to be made… a Polytech School vs. a State School for $15K more a year.

How do people DO THIS???

Hi Shawnwang

Did you apply to a major or as undecided? Whatever you applied to, that’s should be what you were accepted to.
