i got in for international studies - economics. i don't remember what my first choice was lol. regardless, i'm still excited about 6th...sounds interesting =)

political science major

hey do you know if you can change from sixth college to like marshall or something else?

don't think so. from what i've read apparently it's nearly impossible to change colleges...easy to change majors though

comm. major

yes, i am afraid we are stuck at 6th college, but no sweat. i actually visited ucsd this weekend and i kind of liked the feel of sixth college for freshmen. freshmen halls are separate buildings (they are old but they really don't feel it). since we have older buildings, the dorm rooms are the biggest on campus. the first floor of the hall is a regular dorm style theme (kitchen, bathroom, rooms, lounge) and the upper floor is kind of a large study hall (nice chairs). The apartments for sophomores and beyond are in my opinion the best on campus. they look really new, like they were finished a couple of months ago. i really wouldn't object living at sixth college to say the truth. other people might say that sixth is in the middle of nowhere, but if you don't mind a walk, its no problem. its not that far from the engineering school and about a 7-10 minute walk to muir (the most central college). being in the middle of nowhere makes sixth college either a really loud place for socializing (no one to disturb) or the quietest because its so removed. its really impossible to tell, but each class adds its own flavor. i found it to be a quiet place. the students are really nice. i walked to one on the street and i asked him some questions, and he even showed me his room...nice guys, all of you will feel welcome, i guarantee it.

anyway, congrats to all sixth college admits and i hope to see my fellow freshmen soon enough :)

polkovnik

yeah yuh! let's have a college confidential sixthers get together once we're there. haha. jk.

nice info polkovnik, thanks a lot

dude have to guys taken a look at 6th's dorms. They're awesome!

We have a patio and study hall on every level.

yeah, all this talk about 6th being the least popular because its really bad is bs, i made the decision to put 6th as my #1 and i don't regret it at all, amazing res halls, quiet when i want it to be (becasue of its seclusion) and it has some really nice people (i talked to a bunch when i visited a few days ago). 6th all the way :)

poli-sci/public law.

molecular bio

I also don't know anything about 6th college. But I do feel a lot beter about this college after reading the threads.

Pre-bioengineering:Pre-med :)

Ya like polkovnik said, its all about this years class. Considering the college is going to be mostly us freshmen, and we're all really cool dudes and ladies for choosing sixth, Sixth is gonna be a sweet place to live! Rock on 6!

i got in as cognitive sci major but i think i wanna change to bio.

um. at admit day i heard that they were going to renovate the res. halls over the summer. can anyone confirm or deny this?

I would also like to know whether they'll be renovated.

Hey I got into sixth college too under undeclared major, but im probably gonna switch to biology. I would also like to know whether the 6th res halls will be renovated?

i am glad to hear that 6th college is not that bad. i literally ranked my colleges in order of 1,2,3 etc b/c at the i didnt think i would ever get into ucsd or go there. 6th is the one they gave me. i am a poly-sci major.
