Replacing grades

Hello, I am an undergraduate student who is in civil engineering major.
This is my first semester and don’t know much about the school system.
I am currently having a bad grade, which is C+, on a certain course. Is it possible to change the grade if I take the same class and get better grade later on?

You can retake but they’ll count both grades

seriously?!.. well i guess i wasted time to replace my C’s…

@edwardnom, as you’ve just begun, finding information and advice is new. Find and get to know your department and academic advisor. There’s so much information, it can overwhelm anyone. Some programs have peer advisors with whom developing a relationship over tacos or whatever can help you.

"A student in the Cockrell School may not repeat for a letter grade a course in which he or she has earned a grade of C- or better.

If a student repeats a course and has two or more grades, all grades and all semester hours are used to calculate the University grade point average and to determine the student’s scholastic eligibility to remain in school. The official grade in a course is the last one assigned."
