My daughter was in a car accident and missed her spring junior year attempt at the ACT and SAT tests. She is going to take them in October, however when we registered, we put in 4 schools to send the scores to. I can update these registrations, so I was wondering, should I not send the scores immediately after taking the test? Should I wait until we review the scores then send the best of the 2? All the schools will accept either of the tests.

Also, I figure if she should score "not so well", it might be a benefit to hold off and let her retest in Nov.

Does anyone have any advise on this?

Well if she does badly enough on the OCT test that you are thinking of holding back the scores, what are the chances that she will improve enought for the NOV test?

Just send it. If she does badly, what choice do you have? She won't know that she did badly in time for her to study and then retest.

Good point. Ok, then is there a good enough chance that the scores on the SAT and ACT might be different enough to make it worth while to hold off and send only the test score that is best?

Yeah. The ACT and the SAT test different things so scores can differ. A lot.

Yes the ACT and SAT can vary pretty widely. But is it worth it to hold off? That is a different question. Since you have to pay to send later, you are wasting money. Colleges supposedly only look at the highest, so having one lower shouldn't really matter. But we do not really know the validity of that statement, so its really up to you.
