reporting lost/stolen USC debit card

We tried all day to report a stolen USC debit MasterCard today and were unsuccessful. We tried calling the toll-free number & kept getting the automated system that rejected our account number & password/PIN. HELP! We really would prefer to report it instead of waiting until Monday when they open.

The thief already withdrew $15 at In&Out Burgers. :(

Any suggestions?

I would keep trying that toll-free number and just keep pushing 0 or say “Representative”. If that doesn’t work, listen very carefully to the options and try each one until you get to a real person. It’s often very tricky- you may need to just get to a random department that you don’t really want- then that person can get you to the right department.

Good luck- and luckily you wont’ be responsible for any charges that are not yours.

Have tried & ended up being able to leave a voice mail twice and send an e-mail asking to have the debit card cancelled. There does not apear to be any PERSON you can speak with, which I find very wrong. Will keep trying alternatives. Thanks for your suggestion.

YIPPEE!!! Finally called MasterCard’s toll-free number & spoke with a live PERSON! She was able to take our report and send a fax to the credit union so they can follow up 1st thing on Monday (they are closed & even she couldn’t speak with anyone). She did give me a file number & her name & is making a request on our behalf for an emergency replacement card to be sent out.

For anyone interested, the regular 24/7 MasterCard number is 1800-627-8372.
