I was once suspended for four days. I know that on the common app it asks if you’ve EVER been suspended, but the superintendent explained to my mom and I that it wouldn’t show up on my personal record and that if anyone asked I didn’t have to get into specifics about what happened (at worst it will just say something like “five days OSS” but I’m not sure if it will even be that). Should I still be worried? Should I even report it?
I think it is included under “ever.” I would report it/
Actually, you do. The question on the Common App says;
So, if the GC is going to report report ir on the GC rec, then yes, you need to list it and explain it in more depth than “five days OSS.” Colleges expect their students to behave like adults, and while they understand that behavior in HS does not necessarily correlate to future behavior in college, they want to ensure that you have the maturity to thrive on their campus. Errors in judgement will be perceived differently than flaws in character. Trying to sidestep the question can lead them to assume the worst.
Never mind. Talked with someone and it’s not on my record. Closing thread
