Requesting your opinion...

<p>This is my second post. It is updated with changes over the last semester. Again, I would love to hear what you think. I am a senior planning on pursuing a career in medicine/politics.</p>

AP: W. History-5 (self studied), Comp. Gov.-5 (self studied), Biology- 4, Psychology-4 (self studied), US Gov- 5, E. History- 4 (self studied), Calc AB-3, Stat-3 (self studied).
Intended Study: Major in neuroscience with a dual minor in international affairs and political science. </p>

<p>Significant Extracurriculars: Varsity Speech and Debate, History Day, Barack Obama Presidential Campaign for Change, Physics Club, Medical Explorers Post, Academic Team, Student Council, Constitution Team, Mock Trial Team, Math League.</p>

<p>Leadership Positions: Vice-President of Forensics Club (previously secretary & fundraising coordinator), Medical Explorers Post Vice President (previously secretary), Secretary of Physics Club, Student Council Class Representative, Barack Obama Presidential Campaign Neighborhood Precinct Leader and Data Coordinator, Center for Citizen Leadership Project Leader, Academic Team Varsity Captain, Middle School Debate Team Assistant Head Coach, Boys State Mayor, Mock Trial Team Chairperson, Mini-Medical School PBL scribe, Tomorrow’s Leaders Today Program trainee, Student Voice committeeman (Principal’s Board), Student Congress Presiding Officer.</p>

<p>Athletic Status: Varsity Football- played three years in high school and two years in middle school as an offensive tackle and defensive end. Junior Varsity Track- ran one year as a sprinter/long distance runner.</p>

<p>Volunteer/Service Work: Personal canned food drive to honor veteran- over 1000 cans raised in a month and 100 hours spent, volunteer at local hospital- over 250 hours spent, A-Plus student tutor- over 50 hours, blood drive volunteer, Football camp mentor, district special education classroom aide- over 50 hours, Teens Against Tobacco Use mentor- over 50 hours.</p>

<p>Honors/Awards: Nationally ranked in NFL (Speech and Debate), National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, local Chamber Community Pride Essay Best of School, National Honor Society Member, State runner-up Constitution Team, 3-time History Day State Qualifier, 3-time National Qualifier Alternate to National Tournament in Speech and Debate, National Forensic League Academic All-American and Highest degree of Distinction, All-district as a sophomore on Academic Team, finalist and won several regional debate tournaments, All-tournament Team at regional Mind Games 2007, several awards at regional math competitions, Public Library Poetry Winner, Rotary Club District Speech champion.</p>

<p>College/Summer Programs: Numerous football camps, summer weight training program, Missouri Scholars Academy (governors school type), National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine, People to People Future Leaders Summit, Missouri Boys State, Missouri Mini-Medical School.</p>

<p>Work Experience: Legislative research intern for state senator on issues including student testing and assessments and public funding for campaigns; tutor for math, science, and social studies.</p>

<p>HYPSM is a crapshoot. You have a chance for all.</p>

<p>Also, essays should be good, as well as recs.</p>

<p>I'd say you have like an 80% chance of UVA, WUSTL, UNC, Duke, and JHU</p>

<p>And the rest are like flipper said a crapshoot, but you have nice odds my friend.</p>
