Requirement: 3.0 GPA for Senior Year Help

So, I am really afraid that my decision might get revoked because I am receiving an B in all my courses except for one C+. All the Bs are academic however this C+ is just an elective. I really don't know if UCSD would only calculate the GPA using academic courses or all senior year courses--including electives.

This elective has no relation to school because all I am doing is volunteering to the public. I'm getting a C+ in it because I didn't evaluate the workplace I was volunteering.

Please Help Guys. Im really Freaking out!!!

Sorry, I stated “no relation to school” wrong. What I meant was, this course has no academic substance in it, what so ever.
Please help guyss

it’s fine
i got a c+ in ap bio my last semester as a senior in high school.
i think all you have to do is pass.

^But there is a 3.0 Weighted GPA requirement i believe.

It really depends.
Are all the courses that you have B’s in are AP/IB or just regular courses?

If they’re just regular courses, then you might be on the border line of a 3.0 weighted or if some are AP/IB you might be ok.
But it really depends on the course level you’re talking (academic might mean college prep/regular classes or AP/Honors/IB classes that have a 5.0)

Also is this just for your final semester of senior year, or did you get these grades for both semesters? I think they average the entire year (first and second semester).

Heyy, thanks for helping.

Musiclover4: Only one of the course is AP and I have a B on it. while all the other courses are regular courses. I took 8 courses all together this
year.

Meetthemets: They are all the final grades I received yesterday sadlyy…

What is really bugging me is: does UCSD count electives with the GPA average too? This is basically an extracurricular elective to gain work experience and help people.

well it says “Your senior year WEIGHTED grade point averave in all UC-APPROVED ‘a-g’ courses must be at least a 3.0”. If the class you are taking is an elective that isn’t really a class then it shouldnt be considered a UC Approved course. You can check on this link just in case but if it doesnt fit any of these description then it shouldnt count toward your gpa and even if it did your one honor/ap class should give you a good enough boost to make the 3.0 cut. [University of California - A-G courses](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/freshman/requirements/a-g-requirements/index.html)

thanks for all the help guyss. but I just phoned in today to the school and they said they do count electives–any course we took in grade 12-- for our average GPA

Asuming you have 6 classes

AP Lit (B) 4.00
Class 2 (B) 3.00
Class 3 (B) 3.00
Class 4 (B) 3.00
Class 5 (B) 3.00
Elective (C) 2.00

Grade points (18) / 6 classes = 3.0 grade point average

For 7 classes use list above and add:

Class 6 (B) 3.0

Which brings the total to (21) grade points / 7 classes=
3.0 grade point average

The B in the AP class saved your life!
