Rescension Timeline

Fortunately, I am looking at a likely acceptance from UCSD, but even more unfortunately, I am likely looking at also being rescinded for a D in Spanish this year.

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to find out whether or not admission will be rescinded?

Probably a given but did you send a letter to UCSD explaining the D? I know applicants are expected to explain those kinds of grades

What if the D is in the fall semester and the it is improved to an A in the Spring Semester?

Have you tried talking to your teacher about it? I got a D first semester senior year, but my teacher changed it to a C so I wouldn’t get kicked out of SD.

I appreciate the efforts to help, but I’ve exhausted all avenues to correct this thing. I’m nearly certain it will be a D, I’m just curious how long I will have to wait to see if the likely will happen and I get rescinded. I have a bad relationship with the guy, and I’ll be lucky to get a C this semester. Not that it’s from lack of effort…so it goes.

Friend’s acceptance was rescinded ~late August after UCSD found out about their D in Physics AP Spring Semester of senior year. Good luck ://

It was too late for him to sign up for classes at a local CC too :|

what! D: thats horrible! ):
for UC irvine, it just says MULTIPLE D-Fs and it has to be a 3.0+ GPA. I mean if I get 1 D and All As, I will be rescinded from UCSD?

@Paperhearts… Yeah. That pretty much sums it up. Unless you had some reason that may have caused it (ex: Death of an immediate family member), you’d get your admissions rescinded

I thought it was 3.0 minumum GPAU for each semester senior year for UCB and UCLA

and

3.0 mininum GPAW for the whole senior year total for the other UC’s

@above, that is true, but it is also contingent on the fact that you don’t receive anything lower than a C.

If you are sure the D is the best you will get-try to sign up for summer school at a
CC or even an online course now to make up the grade. Better to have leverage and show effort than to beg for mercy…

oh and how many years of Spanish have you taken? If this is a D in a 4th year it is different than a D in the third year.

Uhh, what are you implying @above? It doesn’t matter what year of Spanish the OP is in, a D is a D, in any class, and UCSD will most likely rescind the acceptance.
