I don’t think you would have been admitted to the engineering school with those 2nd semester grades. Even if your admission is not rescinded my concern would be your ability to pass your freshman engineering classes.
I doubt you have to worry about getting a rescinded offer. Still time in the semester to bring up your grades though. Last year, my son’s grades fell in his second semester, even had a D in Physics, and he did not get his offer rescinded. He wasn’t an Engineering major though.
D is actually graduating in two weeks with an engineering degree. There is a good chance you may need to do some remedial work over the summer. Prior to registering for classes you will go for placement testing. If you don’t perform well on the placement test you may need to take remedial classes prior to registering in the engineering curriculum.
D had a friend who was accepted into engineering but didn’t pass the math placement test. She had to pick another major outside of the engineering school.
I recommend talking with someone working in the electrical engineering department to get proper recommendations.
