Rescind Offer

So I am a second semester senior planning on attending for Engineering. I struggled a bit in physics(AP C) third quarter and got a C+ which is different than my usual B. I am extremely afraid that the university is going to rescind my offer of admission because of this. My first semester GPA was like a 3.5 weighted and I went to like a 3.35. I take all APs at an extremely competitive highschool. I got in EA in december. Please shed some light do I need to worry? I plan on retaking mechanics regardless bc of my major.

If your lowest grade is a C+ you’ll be fine. Generally they only ask if it falls into the D/F range but even then it’s super rare to actually be rescinded. Also if you can get credit for PHYS211/212 take it.

Yeah I rocked a solid B in physics all year and im taking AP CALC BC, physics C, lang, gov, and stat but like im an engineering mechanics major so im gonna retake mechanics and calc so my foundation is super strong. Thank you so much I was freaking out. Are you a current student?

@literallymarx

Yeah I’m a current CS/Physics student. Also Calc here is pretty nasty from what I’ve heard (I got Calc 1-3 credit), so I’d avoid if you can. However if you think it’d be better for you to retake it here go for it.

Did you take calc in highschool?

Yeah I took Calc BC my jr year and then took calc3 sr year through a dual credit thing with Oakton CC.

I think what I am gonna do is take MATH 231 EL1 or 2 with the concurrent enrollment in math 299. I meant to say I’m in AB(decided to take it easier but it came back to bite me in mechanics). Do you know topics exactly are covered in MATH 299

Nah the only math classes I took here were 285 and 415, I’d try to email the instructor for the course or seeing if you can find a syllabus somewhere.

it said there would be information on the department website but i literally cannot find anything it just redirects me to where I started. I’ll try that

Ended up with better grades second semester than first, kind of a premature freakout.
