hi guys i added a non uc approved class (choir elective) onto my second semester schedule
and since we only had to put in uc approved classes in for our uc apps, will i get rescinded for having added this class?

No, you wont, just make sure to notify the school of your change. No big deal.

No, you won’t get rescinded for taking an extra class.

I highly highly doubt they will care. But notify UCSD of the schedule change anyway. Just in case.

Did you get a “D” in it? I am having a really hard time to figure out the source of your concern.

Did you take it instead of a UC allowed EC?

Please explain your dilemma.

@BrownParent: my dilemna is that i added this class and i am not sure if ucsd will rescind me because i added it

I don’t think adding a class really does anything… But if you changed something instead of just adding it then maybe the dilemma sort of makes sense. But regardless, you should just write a letter to notify them of the change if anything.

@spacedog: on my uc app i wrote that im going to drop the second semester of my math class… and later i thought that because i had an extra spot in my schedule, i might as well add choir

I can promise you that they wont care that you added a class into your schedule. If anything, in their eyes it can only help you.

However, despite you mentioning that you’d drop math second semester in your application, you might want to consider calling in and making sure that they know that you dropped math. It shouldnt hurt you to make sure because they wont be able to rescind you so long as it was mentioned in your application beforehand.

@aviboy: thanks but i dont really want to wake a sleeping giant…what if them seeing it (if they didnt before) causes me to get rescinded? (knocks on wood*)

They cant. But if you dont want to make sure… thats entirely you’re choice.

Just know that they cant rescind your acceptance just because you added a class

rofl you’re fine :)

Btw sorry to use this thread to ask a question of my own but its pretty relevant. If I did have to make a change of schedule and I sent a signed letter notifying UCSD of the change a few weeks ago, do you think they’d be able to verify that they got the change into their system and everything when I visit the campus? Or do they only allow you to talk via phone? lol I’ve called a few times about other things and a friend called and they weren’t exactly courteous or the most helpful with the issue but I do understand that this point in time is very stressful since so many people call. But back to the question, since they have days for admitted students to visit, do you think I’d be able to verify these changes in person?

Jjang: No.

Spacedog: Maybe, figure out where you need to go when you visit, but I’m sure by June/July calling them to verify records will be much easier. Just make sure you have your PID, the A########, one and that’s about it.
