How likely do you think it is to get into NC State being Asian at one of the more competitive schools in Chapel Hill and having a 26 ACT, 3.53 unweighted GPA, a 4.10 weighted GPA and having parents that went to NC State for graduate school. I am applying to First Year College as my first choice and business (undeclared) as my second option. Everyone says that I will get in and they're probably just being "nice" about this, but I want HONEST responses as being Asian probably will be my biggest disadvantage in a way.

Also, would an 'F' in AP Physics get an acceptance at NC State rescinded if this was my only 'F' for senior year since I am stressing about this.

Actually I think being Asian adds diversity which is an advantage; but also could be a disadvantage considering (I’ve heard, not sure if it’s true) that the bar is raised higher and most Asians I know have stats a bit higher than yours.

That said, you are within the 50% profile but towards the bottom so it’s tough to call based on stats alone. In this case, Asian might help for diversity right?
Fall 2013 (Mid 50% range):
- Weighted GPA: 4.22 - 4.67
- Unweighted GPA: 3.50- 3.88
- ACT: 26 - 30 (composite)
- SAT: 1180 - 1310 (CR + MA only)
- SAT: 1730 - 1920 (CR + MA + Writing)

Getting an F in your senior year puts you at risk for rescinding an acceptance but in reality they may just start you on academic probation. Most schools state this in their acceptances policies as grounds for rescinding acceptances- failing a class your senior year.
