I searched college confidential, and I'm pretty sure no college rescinds for AP scores.

However, I'm just checking on the Yale forum to make sure. Yale doesn't rescind for poor AP scores, right?

Once you’re accepted, the only reason to send the AP scores is if you want to either use them for placement or for acceleration credit. They will not look at them for admission purposes. The only exception might be if when you self-reported your scores on your application you misrepresented them.

Thanks for the response.

OTOH, do you have specific reasons for having unnaturally low AP scores? It may just be me, but when I see threads asking so soon after admission results come out asking about what (insert college name) rescinds for, part of me dies inside…

And now to actually answer your question: You do not have to take any of the exams of the classes you are taking, I cancelled a couple of mine when I saw I’d get no credit for them. You can also not send the score report if anything happens that shouldn’t on the test. If you do send Yale a couple 1’s or 0’s I don’t know what will happen. I assume most of those ppl cancel their scores…

Thanks for the reply.

I’ll probably do decently and get 4 or 5 on most of the tests. However, I’m not sure if I’m going to pass Spanish AP…

Nothing happens. Don’t worry if you get 1s or whatnot; no college rescinds for scores (unless you lied while you reported them), and they’ll only look at your scores that would warrant credit.

Luminozz: unless you really desire to take the test, I’d say skip the AP Spanish. Once in New Haven, you’ll take a placement test and most likely be put into Intermediate regardless of your AP result.

BTW: I advise skipping the test, not b/c you’ll be rescinded. No fear of that. More so that you can enjoy your last moments as a HS student rather than stressing over a test that won’t affect you much at all…

Thanks for the advice. Already signed up, so I’m taking it Don’t worry, I’m not stressing.
