Hey everyone,
So, I got accepted to UCLA but then I found out that I accidentally included CIS 14, which is a major class for my pre-cognitive science major, on my application.
Fact is, I never registered for that class and now I had to drop it on my application along with a Japanese class that I did register and drop on the first day. (Of course, this Japanese class has nothing to do with my major)
I'm afraid that UCLA would rescind my admittance since they could easily assume I was lying on my application, which in fact was really a mistake.
Do any of you know if pre-cognitive science major is very strict on its requirement? Is it okay to miss one major class and still be accepted?
Should I talk to my counselor or the UCLA admission office?
Your advise is much appreciated.
Thank you.

You should talk to your counselor ASAP. No one here can tell you exactly what they will decide but if it’s a major pre-req then yes, you could definitely be rescinded.

Well I think they’re lenient for Pre-majors like cognitive sci. If that’s you’re one Pre-req missing they might let you go. Just talk to the counselor at the cog sci department. You can find his/her info on the department website

They won’t let it go, it will be rescinded. Because if they did let people in missing one class and word got out that they let someone in who didn’t fulfill all the pre-reqs and they denied people who were fully eligible for transfer it would put them up for alot of scrutiny.

I mentioned this in another thread. I was accepted into UCLA, Finished all my pre-reqs they saw one class on my transcript that wasn’t transferable i had 62 credits and that took 3 away putting me at 59. And they Said my application was dropped and that i had to reapply for the Fall of 2011. So no, they won’t be lenient. If they will drop an application due to 1 missing credit i find it highly unlikely they will let a missing Pre-req class pass.

You can try so best of luck to you.
