getting a D in a summer course will probably get me rescinded from UCLA as a transfer student huh

depends on the class but what happen man? starting from spring

did you call and ask them about it? was the class a requirement?

as always, call UCLA to confirm. what makes you think we're admissions?

haven't called in yet cause the offices were closed by the time I found out about my grade

The class is a 2nd semester foreign language which is required for IGETC certification

Was it part of your admissions contract? Like, did they say you had to pass that class with a grade of "B" or "C" or something?

Details!!!

no it wasnt part of my admissions contract

on my.ucla.edu what does it say about your transcript? received or pending? if its received and done, you should be fine

well, my worry is that you did not pass a class that is required for IGETC. by not passing a class, you essentially have not completed IGETC and therefore are at risk for being rescinded.

but like everyone else said, call.

my provisional contract actually doesn't say that I need to finish IGETC

it just says I need to pass:
2 classes in social/behavioral sciences,
2 classes in arts/humanities,
a class in english composition and one in math,
2 classes in physical/biological sciences.

its just all the areas in IGETC other than foreign language. I've done and passed all of these requirements.

another concern: I also got a D in a course over Fall 07, which is something they knew about since I notified them on the app update that was due in January.

If you reported on your UC application that you will have completed IGETC, they're under the assumption that you will successfully complete IGETC. For transfers, I think IGETC and fulfilling your majors' requirements are key to their evaluation of your admission. But weren't you supposed to fulfill IGETC by the Spring anyhow?
