Rescinding policy

First semester i got a 3.667 unweighted
but seniorities hit me hard like HARD for second semester.
*first: C (maybe C- or C+ after final) (first semester it was a B)
second: A (maybe B+ unlikely though) (B first semester)
*third: B+/A- (too borderline to tell) (A- first)
fourth: A (A first)
*fifth: B/A (long story teacher is crazy idk how this will turn out) (A first)
sixth: A (A first)

*=AP Class

Kind of stressed out about being rescinded.
Also can I get rescinded for AP scores since I was going to take them on my application.
These are like worse case scenario but assuming this is what happen will it affect my admission?
AP Physics B: 2 or 3
AP Stats : 5
AP Gov: 1,2,3
AP Macro: 1,2,3
AP Micro: 3,4,5

I’m freaking out :(

edit: for gov and macro just assume 1 and for physics just assume 2. I rather know for the worse case so I can figure out what to do

advice please :(

I was about to ask about rescinding too because I have 3 C’s, 2 B’s (C’s in AP stats, AP Econ, H. Physics). The reason I was worried is because I thought I just needed to keep a 2.0 GPA (no D’s) but my friend told me that you need a 3.0 for davis. Whichever one is true, you have nothing to worry about because your GPA is higher than 3.0. AP tests don’t matter. You don’t even have to take them if you don’t want to. Only drawback is you won’t get credit for it and you’ll have to take the classes again if they’re required in college.

Edit: I just checked on myadmissions there’s a section called 'conditions of admissions. It says you can’t get any grade lower than a C, so I think we should both be safe.

OP, I wouldn’t worry. They don’t care what you get on AP tests as far as admission goes. You need <3.000 or a D to get rescinded and you aren’t even close to that.

oh boy scrabblekid you just got me worrying again. Are you sure people get rescinded for <3.0 gpa? I thought/hope you just can’t get below a C

Yeah, I’m sure you can get rescinded for less than 3.000, but I’ve heard a bunch of different ideas in regards to that. Some people say its for the whole senior year, but I kinda doubt that theory. They also might weigh your GPA too. Contact the admissions office if you really want to know.

When I called they said they couldn’t guarantee anything since it’s all case by case. So I’m guessing they have no policy?

I don’t think you can’t get rescinded for a C.

Here’s the official answer:

[Ms. Sun’s UC Admissions Blog - UC Freshman Provisional Admission Contract/Conditions of Admission](Error)

Oh, and AP scores don’t matter at all… Unless you want credit. And in most cases, they won’t even grant you credit.

“And in most cases, they won’t even grant you credit.”

Where is that stated?

^well I know you don’t get out of general education classes as in AP scores won’t replace a general education requirement

i assume most people want credit, since more credits = earlier pass time

@FutureEEmajor

You’re ok… read the article below… it’s from UC Davis Magazine… gives great insight into the rescind process.

[UC Davis Magazine, Fall 2004: Parents](http://ucdavismagazine.ucdavis.edu/issues/fall04/parents.html)

interesting article

Can anyone give any information UC Davis’s policy on one D in second semester senior year. Just a bit scared that there is a possibility for it to happen. It would be me lowest grade and all my others would be B/A and would give me a 3.1667 as the lowest and 3.5 to be the highest (this range is unweighted GPA, and I have three AP Classes this year). At the same time first semester I had 3.667 unweighted. I mean I’m doing everything to make sure it doesn’t drop to a D but just wondering how high of a chance of getting rescinded from UC Davis if this did happen.

@FutureEEMajor: I read UC Davis will generally work with students to help develop a plan to not get rescinded (ie. taking the course over during Summer.) I would contact them if it’s a possibility. But honestly, I would really avoid that D… you never know when they may crack down due to budget cuts or overenrollment or something.

My contract definitely does not say anything about getting above a 3.0. I just can’t receive anything less than a C.

Mine doesn’t say anything about the 3.0 either…it says i must maintain the academic level I that I had and that i must not receive anything less than a C.
Its not a D right now but I’m so worried that it might drop.

Yeah I just found out today that my Theory of Knowledge teacher gives out “Incomplete” grades if you don’t turn in all the essays. Looks like I’m spending my last school night ever getting philosophical! I wouldn’t want it any other way.
