Rescore AP Chemistry?

I am one of the top students in my class--our teacher is new, but he bases his tests off of old multiple-choice questions and a good number of our tests were old multiple-choice. I scored in the high 4, low 5 range on our final exam (official AP questions, too). He does not curve our grades and I was one of the few students to receive an A as a final grade.

I felt confident about the exam and was sure that I could at least get a 4. However, AP is saying that I got a 3.

Do you think it is worth getting it rescored? I am interested in doing pre-med in college and am worried that this could affect my acceptance. I have taken 9 AP exams and gotten 5's on all of them except for this one.

$25 dollars, using sigfigs, is like adding zero to the cost of medical school :)

You don’t have to report to colleges that you got a 3 in AP Chem.

Most colleges (even the top ones) don’t put that much weight on APs.

They won’t be able to regrade your FRQs, so if you feel they misgraded your multiple choice then you should rescore. And you can just choose not to report your AP Chem score on your application.
