Should I get it rescored if I got a 3?? I felt so good about that test.. I mean, I'm going into Chemical Engineering.. On the practice tests I took, I kept getting high 4s or low 5s, and when I got my free response packet back, I was pretty positive that I got about 70% of it all right.. I don't see how I could've scored a three.. it it possible that they messed up??

IMO $25 isn’t that much. I’d go for it.

Yeah, I think I’ll just dish out the 25 dollars… I mean, I’ve been going on AP pass to calculate my score, and the only way I could see myself getting a three is if I got like a 40% or lower on the multiple choice, which is simply not plausible… I felt like I destroyed the multiple choice…

Yeah, I think I’ll just dish out the 25 dollars… I mean, I went on AP pass to predict my score, and it’s just not plausible that I got like a 40% on the multiple choice.

You ordered your FR booklet and got it already?

Personally, I’d wait for scoring guidelines to come out in late July just to be certain that your FR score is as high as you thought. You have until the end of September (or October?) to send in a rescore request.

Yeah, I got the booklet back two days after the test and checked the answers with my teacher, and got between 65% and 75% of it all right. Assuming that I got 36/60 points on the free response (60%), that would mean I would have to get around 37/75 problems right to score a super high 3… that’s just not possible… I felt so good about my answers… dadfafsd I feel ashamed of myself. I love Chemistry so much, and it’s my favorite subject… I just don’t understand how I could have done so badly. I mean, I got a 710 on my Chemistry II subject test without even trying… I don’t get it…

^Another reason why AP exams are bull shap.

Uh…you took the time to write all your answers in the green insert? How’d you have time to do that? It took me all 90 minutes to solve and write in the pink booklet that actually gets graded.

No, no! I have really good memory… I remembered every answer I put to the best of my ability. My Chemistry teacher graded my memorized answers…

Oh, for a moment, I thought that you left your pink book blank. The Chem curve should have been forgiving enough that a good enough MC score alone would have netted you a 3.

I suggest you buy back your pink booklet for $7 and grade them with the CB’s scoring guidelines once they’re released in late July. Take that score, subtract 6 or 7 points to be safe, and plug into AP Pass again. If the needed MC score seems abnormally low, send in the $25 for rescore.

If you’re really confident that you did well on your FRQ then the problem lies with your multiple choice. If you bubbled in your answers wrong, such as shifting every answer down by 1, you’ll get a majority of them wrong and that would result in about 18/75 or so on the multiple choice. In this case, there is nothing you can do and a rescore will only result in the same score.

Is it possible that they could have left out the free response section??

I forgot to put in a piece of information when I was filling out the test booklet… I can’t remember how significant it was, though…

I’m really disappointed in myself… I did so well in all of the practice exams… I’m strong in Chemistry… Yet, I got a 3… I could take a 4 and not question it too much (maybe some errors here and there), but a 3??

It’s possible that they left out a section and if you did as well as you said you did, one section alone could have netted you a 3.

I sure hope so. Thanks for the responses. I’m praying for a 5… :/
