Research @ a CCC

I was thinking about how CCC would effect my graduate school opportunities and the only yhing that I could think of was research. Is there a way to get into research at a CCC and how would one do it? Thank you, im a math major.

I’m really not sure about how research can work for a Math major. Maybe talking to some of the economics professors to see if they’re actually in any current applied research. You can ask Math professors if they’re currently writing any textbooks (both traditional university and CC profs usually collaborate in large groups on those types of things). and they may let you in on that . . . but I’ve never heard anything like these things happening first-hand. They’re just suggestions.

Some CCCs have good science programs with valuable science resources you may be able to use instead of math directly. For example, De Anza College has the Fijitsu Planetarium on campus and the NASA Ames Rearch Center close by. Both 4-year and CC students do a lot at these places.

Best of luck.

Yeah, applied math research normally comes out to be akin with physics research just covers more about how the phenomenon can be represented mathematically and then how that representation can be applied to more phenoma. So most science research definitely helps. Does anyone know about Diablo Calley College’s research opportunities or lack thereof?
