My son is down to choosing between Villanova and Lehigh for ChemE. We are trying to find out if anyone has any first hand knowledge of the research opportunities at Villanova? Also is their the possibility of paid internships through Villanova? Thanks for any info!!!

I am currently a ChE student at Villanova. Students can get involved in research as early as freshman year if they want to (I personally know of at least 5 ChE freshmen researching right now). They also have a program called VURF (Villanova Undergraduate Research Fellows) where you submit a proposal to get a stipend to stay at Nova and research over the summer. Basically the same thing as a paid internship with free housing. There’s also paid internships not through the school itself, but they direct you towards them. There’s an online database called GoNOVA where the Career Center puts up internship opportunities for students to apply to. There are also many companies that visit for things such as the Career Fairs or just other events that students can obtain internships through. Let me know if you have any more questions.
