So I did research for one summer and they published a paper about it. However, I had a very minor roll and thus was not listed as an author. Is it okay if I send this in even though I am not mentioned anywhere? Will it hurt my application?

If you have a minor role and you did not contribute to the paper, then I would probably not send it. Papers are reviewed by Faculty and others and asking them to read a work that is not yours is imposing on them. It could even create a negative impression, when they do not see your name but see an explanation that says you did not merit mention, they may think trying to impress them with someone else s work. You might mention that you were involved in a reserach effort and leave it at that.

Were you mentioned in the acknowledgments sections, at least? What sort of responsibilities did you have?

No, the paper was essentially already written when I began working. All I did was confirm some of the findings. I have also been involved with other research, but this is the only one that was published. So, I really want to send it in. Will it look bad?

I think you can do so but you should indicate and explain your role in the project.

would help if professor wrote a letter of recommendation and he mention your help.

If you had very little to do with the paper… I wouldn’t send it in. There is already the perception that high school students who have “written papers” didn’t actually do very much. If you have other work where you can point to bigger parts that you have helped with, even if it’s not published, I would talk about that instead.
