What's the big deal with research, really?

experience, experience, experience

if you can get involved in a research opportunity during college, it shows that you can apply what you learned in your major. Same goes with internships and work experience. Looks great on a resume.

In addition, its a chance to get involved during college hands on with something that is going on in your career field and a chance to interact with professors and see what they are doing in your major field.

[Why do you rob banks?]

Because that’s where the money is.

Getting some undergraduate research experience is recommended especially if you’re trying to go to a grad school. I don’t know what your major is but you can do it by talking to a college professor and becoming his/her “research assistant” during academic years/summer or by looking for summer research opportunities sort of like an internship. It looks great on your resume and even better if you can get published so as long as you’re capable of or inclined to it, try it!! :-D
