Residence fees

Hi there,

I was wondering...about the fees for residence...I know for instance, a single room in carrefour costs 1159 per month and a double is 1028. Is it 1028 per person or 1028 per room? In other word if I want a double will I be paying only half of the 1028?
If not then this is kind of not logical. If my roommate and I each pay 1028 that make the whole room over 2000 dollars! Why not just rent a single then since you are only paying a little more over 100 dollars.

Thanks for your help!

I think the double is a bigger room to accommodate two students, hence the greater total pay. The reason why it’s 1028 rather than 1159 is because you will have a roommate. Likewise, you pay more when you have a single room due to the fact that you don’t have a roommate. At least, that is the most logical way of interpreting it.

The price you see is always per person. Get the single room, lol.

As recent as two years ago, the prices between a single and a double were more significant (a couple hundred of dollars to a thousand) but recent increases in rent have affected doubles disproportionately.

haha the cost is hilarious between the double and single.

FYI: There are very few singles in Carrefour I can literally count less than a handful of them in the entire building. Most of the singles I believe go to scholarship winners who have priority.

^ True, but my personal experience has been that these individuals will typically choose the Douglas or the singles in New Rez first (not to mention La Citadelle this upcoming year, which, as a brand new residence, I can only imagine will be popular.) Besides, who says Kaito doesn’t hold one such golden ticket her/himself? :P

Thanks for the help guys!
That really sucks then! I was hoping doubles would be significantly cheaper…o well…probably gonna get a double anyways…i want to have a roommate.
