Residence hall assigments are up!

Dillon hall here

pasquerilla east :)

…anyone know anything about this dorm?

Son is in a triple in Duncan. Any thoughts about triples?

How did you find out?

On Facebook. Go to insideND, click on the Office of Residence Life icon on the First Year Tab, log in there and click “See Assignment.”

A triple in Duncan should be nice, it’s the newest dorm and has the nicest ammenities. If anyone is in Zahm I can answer the usual questions that come up about the dorm

Duncan is a really nice dorm and like everything else, triples have their pros and cons…while ND doesn’t have really mean spirited people, there is always the possibility that the other two roommates become real close which leaves the third one out to dry a little bit, but on the other hand, it gives your son one more person that he may be able to connect with. Whereas in a double, you only have one shot but now your son has two shots at getting a manageable roommate. All in all, I would say that a triple has more pros than cons especially seeing as it is in Duncan.

As for PE, it is on Mod quad which is behind the library. I think there are usually alot of engineers in PE (they like to group female engineers together so it is easier for them to have work groups and therefore, they hope to retain more female engineers). It is a little far from campus but you’ll use north dining hall. It is nice for the tests in Stepan (if you are an engineer) b/c you are close to Stepan. It is a newer dorm and has AC I believe.

Dillon - you are right next to SDH which is a plus…I lived in Alumni for my first two years and the two are rivals, but I do know that the dorms are fairly similar. Fr. Doyle is a great guy. You through the first pep rally of the year which is cool. No AC and the dorm is rather old and the rooms can be kind of small, but it has great tradition and a great family environment. Also has a great location on south quad.

Hope this helps! let me know if you have any more questions.

I’ve got a double in Morrissey. I’ve found that it has no air conditioning (maybe it’s less necessary in Indiana than Florida) and was built in 1925. Any other comments on what to expect? Thanks.

I’m in a double at Dillon.

my boyfriend found out that he got a double in stanford…any thoughts?

I am also in a double in Stanford. Duncan was my first choice but I am still really happy. I also have some experience with the building having stayed in Keenan several times in the past.

First year son was assigned a double in Keough. Any details on this hall, location on campus, what’s in room, which dining hall, etc? I know it is a newer hall, just uncertain of other details. Thanks for any information, advice!

Keough is one of the newer dorms, on west quad, very close to south dining hall and the rock (recreation center). Great for getting to debartolo, in which pretty much everyone has at least one class in.

Morrissey is known to have the smallest dorm rooms, but has a lot of tradition. The mascot is the dorm itself! and cool dorm colors too, black and yellow. good location on south quad, which i think is the prettiest part of campus.

I’m assigned to Carroll Hall with two roomates. Built in 1906, “Carroll Hall does not have an elevator, air conditioning, or an exercise room” and is “located on the far west side of campus”. Sounds sketchy at first glance, but hopefully it’s a great dorm. Does anybody have any personal knowledge about Carroll Hall?

John add the Notre Dame app on facebook and Tim Brazelton who is the moderator lives in Carroll. He has absolutely nothing bad to say about it and loves living there. He is also available to answer any and all questions about next year.

I got Knott Hall… any thoughts?

Knott Hall is one of of the female dorms around us.

From a Siegfried guy.

Carroll becomes a very close knit group of guys since they are rather far from campus – you’ll probably need a bike to save time.

Knott and Siegfried are both on Mod quad behind the library. Both are more modern dorms with modern amenities and both have a kind of crazy mentality to them (though all men’s dorms do).

Stanford/Keenan both got redone last year (not sure the extent, but they were just renovated). Both are on North Quad. They are unique as they share a chapel and technically the same building. Keenan is known for their crazy comedy show (Keenan Revue). Stanford seems to be a little more of a relaxed dorm atmosphere but I really don’t know as I spend most of my time on South Quad.

Did I miss anyone? If you want more information, I can try and help though I must admit, I know the South/West Quads more than the North/Mod/God dorms.

I lived in Stanford my frosh year… Stanford is definitely crazier then Keenan, also really emphasizes dorm sports.
