@aristophanes—Sorin has a porch too, with swings for socializing with the ladies

You know I thought Sorin might have a porch, but I was picturing it as more of a little portico at the front entrance (not a very good place for “socializing” I would think).

Does Duncan have any sort of reputation yet? We’re read the facilities are super nice, but what kind of spirit/character does it have? What’s the scoop on the new rector?

A quick overview of all ND dorms is on a college website that prowls…

google UND dorms

Yeah, you can’t write the name of that website on here. Competitor and all that. If you start typing “College Prowl-” into Google, it will auto-complete it for you, though.

Also, I resent the presence of Morrissey on the “Worst” list. And it should be “Manor” not “Hall.”

This may not be the appropriate forum, but I’ve looked at the various dorms on the ND site and although they look great on the outside, the rooms seem very small. One picture had the desk under the bed - are they that small that you need to do this. Also, what’s up with the sinks in the rooms - seems like a waste of space when you have a bathroom on the floor.

Notre Dame’s dorms vary in size by quite a bit. Some are quite small while some are quite large. Even in one dorm, the variation can be significant. Having lived in the dorms, and now living in a much larger house with friends, I can tell you that the dorm life is second to none and is the best home I’ve ever had. I would strongly suggest you visit and talk to students about how they feel.
