<p>Does anyone think that residency affects admission? I am curious if having a Florida residency would be beneficial in anyway, considering that the price of the school is the same for instate students and out of state students.</p>

- UM is famous for diversity
- UM is private school</p>
<p>Not really. From what I can tell there are plenty of Florida kids, but it’s like 40-something percent out-of-state or out-of-country. Actually, I think it would work against you if anything since colleges try to gather a diversity from different regions, but I really don’t think it’s going to make a difference.</p>
<p>Actually the percent in state is 40 and from out of state/country is 60.</p>
