I have been invited to join both the RC and the Honors college at UMich. If I end up attending, where would be a better place to live, the RC on East Quad or the Honors Housing on South Quad?

Really depends what you want. The Honors program is in South Quad - one of the better dorms - it's a 60s sort of building so not much personality, but a great location. East Quad is an older dorm - good location also - and many of your classes will be right in the dorm so you can go to class in your pj's. The students in RC tend to be a little more "alternative" and focused on arts, social science and humanities. But there are certainly science majors and even students who will go to the business school. You really need to look at the academic requirements for each program - it's not a small thing. For RC, there's a foreign language requirement and you have to commit to 2 years in the dorm. Honors you have to take Great Books and other classes. They're both worthwhile programs - but it depends what you want.
Don't make your decision between these two based on housing alone.

You can be in honors and RC at the same time. If you do you have to live in east quad.
