Residential Scholars learning community

Does anyone have experience with the Residential Scholars living learning community (Ashton) where you do some cleaning duties? Anybody know how many hours per week you are committed to cleaning and is it worth the reduced room cost?

My daughter was in residence scholars for 2 1/2 years. The single rooms are great and it is a great location. She did approximately one hour of cleaning per week, so it is an excellent bargain. Chores are rotated weekly, but never take more than an hour or so. Her only complaint was that she could not regulate the temperature in her room, so she ran a fan in the winter because she tends to be too warm. There is a window air conditioner but I don’t think they are allowed to be run in the winter. It’s a pretty quiet dorm.

Thank you so much @Michhoos. Do you know if the floors are mixed gender where rooms alternate between male/female on a wing/floor, which is what I prefer?

I believe there is one mixed floor, one guy floor and two girl floors. You do have to fill out an online application for residence scholars, and once you are accepted, you choose the room you want. Current residents get first choice.
