My D just got a brochure from ResLife offering a variety of Linen/Towel Dorm packages and other assorted items. Can any of the UMD parents give an opinion on this stuff. Is it a good deal? Thanks

Umm, you have a daughter, right? Then, no. Definitely no. Nothing is a good deal unless she is happy with it. She needs to pick things out herself - hell, that’s half the fun! Call all friends and relatives and ask for the Bed, Bath and Beyond coupons…collect as many as you can. There is more variety and your daughter can choose the quality that satisfies her. Remember, she is potentially going to coordinate stuff with her roommate - they may want matching/complementary colors/patterns.

SoofDad… Don’t do it. MV is right. BB&B is the way to go!

I was going to ask the same question, but I have a son who could not care less about picking out his own stuff, colors, etc. He would probably rather stick hot needles under his fingernails than coordinate bedding with a roommate too, so my question is about the quality of the ResLife products. Not looking for 800 thread count, but is the stuff reasonably well made and comfortable? My friend did the BB&B stuff with her son last year and spent well over $350 for fewer items (even with a pile of coupons).

My son felt the same way but did care about sheets not being scratchy…I believe u get what you pay for. I didn’t feel it was worth the risk to try it…as for cost at BB &B, well it depends on what u get…Target also has decent stuff so u can pick and choose from various places for all the things u need.

We bought the sheets, towels, etc from the ResLife offer. Most of the quality of the stuff is on the lower side. The one good thing is they have just about everything a student needs. Use their list to do your own shopping, unless you don’t have the time.

Hey I am really interested in the UMD Value Packs, and then I read this thread. I am girl, but I really don’t have the ability to match, and pick out my own stuff. Lol We are trying to save money, and the value packs look really good. What should I do? My parents really liked the fact that it was supposed to last until graduation. I was thinking for a moment to wait for my roommate, and then buy everything together, but then how would I know if she already bought a value pack? Then I would be left hanging… any thoughts?

“supposed to last until graduation”…and your recourse if this proves there is no truth in advertising?
Target has decent stuff and if I recall they also sell some bundled college packs - if not, BB& B def does - but honestly bundled stuff tends not to be so great in general. To me, it’s worth spending a little extra for stuff you use on a daily basis…
