Applied to CEHD 9/28/16. Curious about what the response time has been in past years or if anyone has heard back yet this year.
Admission decisions could begin as early as October. Have you checked your application tracker to see what they say?
My transcript and ACT haven’t been sent so not yet. Does CEHD typically respond quickly?
You can still access your application tracker as long as you know your student ID #. You can call admissions and ask them for it. I think it’s supposed to arrive via e-mail as well but calling has always worked better in the past.
If past behavior holds for this year, UMN will release acceptances only at this early date but those should include most if not all the admitting colleges. While there may be college-specific timing differences those haven’t really been a major factor. Strength of the application is the primary determinant as to when someone will hear back and what they will hear. Not exactly sure how this year will go, as the deadlines have all been pushed forward. However, we were told, and my daughter’s tracker says, that admission decisions will still begin in October as they have in prior years.
Good luck to you!
D17 was just admitted this morning to CSOM.

Edit to add EC’s: Not many, she is involved on an academic team and has done some tutoring. She also works part-time.
We were pretty confident that she’d be accepted but it’s good to see these start to roll out. Guessing we’ll hear from others as well.
So Univ of Minn Twin cities does rolling admissions for undergrad? Is it for all majors? The website made it sound like there would be no decisions released until after mid Jan, if students got there app submitted by 1 Nov.
@MerryLee the deadline for notification will be end of January. So 100% of those applying for freshman (first) year will have been notified by Jan 31. However, UMN has a tradition of beginning acceptance notifications in October. That hasn’t changed this year, fortunately. And yes, it applies to all the admitting colleges. The earlier application deadline will help with the back-end of notices as in the past many applicants had to wait till February to hear back.
As in previous years, do NOT wait till the regular deadline but get the application in before the Priority Deadline. This year that date has been accelerated 6 weeks, from 12/15 to 11/1. It’s an easy application to complete so no need to delay.
@JBStillFlying thanks. Didn’t know about their tradition of early notifications.
