We are headed out for an Accepted Students day and looking for dinner and breakfast ideas. Casual, good pizza or ribs. I hear we are in for more snow, so easy walk from the campus would be great. We have less then 36 hrs in Boston so it should be a whirlwind trip.

It’s about a 5 minute drive / 30 minute walk but I highly recommend Picco for pizza. It’s in the south end and about $20 for a large pizza, which is more than enough for 2 people.

Thorton’s is one of my favorite breakfasts nearby. It’s on Huntington right across from the Prudential and Christian Science Center so it’s an easy 5-10 minute walk.

North End is an obvious dinner destination, but if you’re looking for something walking distance, I like the pizza at Woody’s, which is hidden away on Hemenway street. Boylston is a quick T ride away, and there are some good restaurants around there… Finale is great for dessert. Most of my favorite Boston restaurants are in the South End, but those are a little pricier and harder to get to (yelp can find some great spots, though).

You can go to Joe’s American on Tremont for ribs (steak etc.)

I would take the 1 minute walk to the Marino Student Center and eat breakfast/lunch the Au Bon Pain

Our kids love going to Fire & Ice. It is a monogolian grill kind of thing. You put together your own bowl of ingredients and then it its grilled up on ths huge circular grill while you watch.

I might suggest looking at Open Table website. It is really great for narrowing down your search for the type of food you want and you can make your reservations there too. There is no shortage of great restaurants in the city

Village Smokehouse in Brookline for great and casual BBQ. On Harvard ave just off rt 9.

We had breakfast at Thorton’s, had trouble seeing it in the snow and got bad directions from hotel, but quick good food and waitress was a Northeastern grad.

Dinner was Max Brenner Chocolate which worked for both me and my picky eater son. Son realy liked Northeastern even with the cold, wind and snow, that was the best part of trip by far.

Sent from my SPH-D700 using CC

In case you were interested Max Brenner CEO was also a Northeastern grad.
