Resume

Hi everyone. I have already applied to Harvard and created my portal. I was wondering if I should or shouldn’t upload a resume onto the portal. This is what the website says:

Scholarly articles, research, creative writing or other documents should be submitted in the Upload Materials section of the applicant status portal.

Most HS resumes repeat the CA’s activities sheet and explain the ECs more in depth. If you have it, go and upload. If not, I wouldn’t sweat it.

Please read carefully. If Harvard wanted resumes, they would have included “resume” in the above statement. Resumes are duplicative of the Common Application extracurricular section, test score section, education section, and the honors and awards section. Colleges are not interested in student’s uploading resumes (that’s actually one of the reasons the Common Application no longer allows student to upload documents, as too many students were uploading resumes.)

You should create a one-page resume though to take with you on your alumni interview, in case you are asked for one. Here is a sample: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1667731-college-interviews-resume-vs-activities-list-p2.html
