Retake a 2150 SAT for top-schools?

I have a combined SAT score of a 2150
CR - 680
Math - 720
Writing - 750

However, I also have a 34 ACT. Almost a 35 :/
English - 33
Math - 35
Reading - 33
Science - 36

I'm looking at some higher tier schools. Ivy, Stanford, Rice.

Obviously, my ACT is better than my SAT. Would it be that lucrative to retake my SAT. I haven't done any practice since last January since I was focusing on my ACT test. I feel like it's mainly my CR that holding me back. However I recently got a 5 on the AP Lang. test which is basically a CR test (not sure if that matters. Haha)

So what do you think. Should I retake it? Or just go on my higher ACT score?

Just send the ACT, the tests are given equal weight, neither is preferred. Maybe you should work on your ACT, it certainly won’t hurt!(:

submit your ACT. A 34 is a very competitive score don’t waste time and money to retake it. Focus on your classes, ECs, and your college essays instead. Good Luck!!!

Yeah. I definitely don’t plan on retaking the ACT. That was the best score I had ever gotten and I was quite pleased with it. I’ll just spend my extra time polishing up my colleges essays.

Generally speaking, if you have to ask, you should.

But, yes, send just your ACT scores–they’re exceptional.

Some schools (Rice and Stanford) require applicants to submit all scores, and because I have the SAT subject tests to send, I will have to send the normal SAT as well (actually I’ve already sent my scores to them). So hopefully they look at the ACT instead. I emailed them the question but no reponsr yet…

Really? I sent in my SAT subject test scores and I didn’t have to send in my regular SAT

2150 isn’t really that bad, I’m sure they’ll look at the 34 too.

I think when they say “send all scores”, they mean send all of the scores for every sitting you’ve done for that test. So let’s say you’ve taken the SAT three times, let’s say a 2100, 2150, and 2000, you’d have to send all of those scores. But in your case, if you have an SAT and ACT, it’s your choice which one to send. If you took the ACT multiple times, you’d have to send them all the scores for every sitting for THAT test.
Just my two cents.

Go with the ACT

That’s true. But they also require/stongly suggest SAT subject tests, so if I send in those, I would have to send in my regular SAT…at least I think

Which school are you referring to for sending only your SAT scores. I know some colleges allow score choice, but I was pretty sure Rice and Stanford don’t.

Ok, so I already sent both scores to a few schools (Harvard, Stanford, Rice and Duke) because I didnt realize that when I used the “send scores free to 4 colleges” thingy for my SAT subject test, it would send all my SAT scores (at least I think it sent them all)

Am I screwed???
