My English score was a 35 but everything else was 31 or 32 My SAT score, on the other hand, was a 1490 and I probably won’t retake that. Should I just stick with my SAT and not report my ACT score or try to do better on the ACT in September?
I’d try to do better in Sept.
It will give you a better chance of acceptance at Penn.
Concur with @menloparkmom . If you do better on the ACT - great. If not. you use the SAT. Nothing to lose. A 32 won’t impress.
Note they will see all your scores
Just stick with the SAT and move on. Focus on other stuff your senior year. 1490 is a great score.
IDK I think I would retake one or the other… if at all possible. And you have to report both ACT and SAT scores if you’ve taken them for Penn. I wouldn’t risk not reporting as your scores are not bad at all.
While a 1490 sounds good- Ive heard the new SAT concordance tables are running 60-80 points for the new sat being easier than the old sat so I think you will need above a 1500
Retaking the SAT probably isn’t an option since I have yet to take Subject Tests and I’m planning on applying ED. Thanks for the advice, though
I wouldn’t worry about this so much. It will be what it will be. However, if you could get you score to be a 33 or 34, you would be more competitive. I don’t know much about the new SAT since people took the old one when I applied. If a 1490 is competitive, I think you can relax. Some people do better on one test than the other and if I remember correctly, Penn pays most attention to your highest scores.
