Retake high 700s?

I know on the regular SAT colleges really don't differentiate between a, for example, 770 and an 800. Is it the same for subject tests? I got a 770 in USH but I'm pretty sure if I grabbed a review book and freshened up a bit, I'd be able to take home an 800. Is it worth it to go from a 770 to an 800?

i dont think so. the gap only seems bigger here on cc with all these perfectionists
but if its really bothering you and you have extra money and time to spend, sure

you might want to take other subject tests instead. who knows? you might score higher

no, i think that in general once you’re over the 750 mark you’re pretty much an “800” so i wouldn’t waste my money on it.

I don’t think its worth it in this situation. Keep in mind that you will not be able to retest until this fall. You will have to do a great deal of restudying in a few months to retain the information, and, its likely that the questions separating you from an 800 were obscure specific detail questions, which you are even more likely to forget/be mentioned in a textbook but not review book

No. 770 is close, and retaking the same test not worth the effort IMHO. Use that time and do something else.

what about 730? I m not going into history major. I’m gonna major in bio.
I scored 750 in chem and 800 in Math IIC.
Do you think i have to retake 730 US history?

Did you take US history this year? Do you realistically think you will know the information better this fall than you did this spring? I think its unlikely…I wouldn;t

I’ve heard it looks pretty strange to colleges if people retake high subject test scores…but I guess with Score Choice that’s not such an issue…

Seriously, congratulations on your wonderful results. Do something more productive than retaking, like knitting scarves!

I would not retake anything over 750, unless it’s math 2.
