I scored 2030 on my first SAT, planning to retake in October.
For November, I'm not sure if I should retake a subject test or retake the SAT.
I'm aiming for 2200+.
I got 750 Math II and 640 US History.

There are other things that are more interesting than SATs, aren’t there. That being said, what year are you in HS, what universities are looking at to go to.

Those scores will get you in to virtually any college in the land. Why do you need higher scores?

I’m a senior; I’m planning to apply to many reach schools for business such as:

Brown University
Carnegie Mellon University
Columbia University
Cornell University
Duke University
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
University of Michigan
The College of New Jersey
New York University
Northeastern University
University of Pennsylvania
Princeton University
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey at New Brunswick
University of Virginia

The Ivy League schools listed should be considered reaches even if you retake and get =/>2200.

Remember schools want other things too. Are your grades up? Are you challenging yourself?

MIT is Math/Science leaning, are your grades in Math good? Is Math the strongest of your SAT matrix?

Have you taken any subject tests? At least half of the schools you listed, strongly suggest or require them.

You listed over a dozen schools, do you really want to apply to so many? That takes time. Lots of time.

What is about each of those schools that makes them interesting to you?

I am taking the highest classes possible. My GPA is around a 4!59 weighted 3.93 uw

I’m also going for a business major

Do the best that you can in October so that you can leave November for subject tests. Many of the universities that you listed require two subject tests so you want those to be in the 700s

The thing is that I wouldn’t be ready for any subject tests until after senior year (when I finish the course)

To tell you the truth, I don’t see any value in doing the subject test after the senior year when you complete the course. That is, the college decision will have already been made by that time.

I think what I’m trying to get at is which is better:
100 point increase for SAT or breaking 700 on a subject test?

I’m trying to get 2250 for the rutgers scholarship, but I don’t know if I’m gonna get that in October. By the time I register, it would be too late

Since you scored 2030 on your first SAT, an 100-point increase still will not get you 2250+. A 220-point jump is not easy to obtain without studying. Are you currently practicing SAT tests and consistently getting 2250+? If yes, I would suggest taking SAT in October and Subject Test in November. Again, only you know better.

StevenToCollege

I’m not getting 2250s+ I’m only getting 21XX now. :[
Do colleges prioritize SAT / SAT Subj in any way?
