Retake SAT??

So I got my scores for the Oct SAT:
M: 800
CR: 730
W: 740
=2270

My writing score was pretty low because I didn't write a very long essay, so I got a 9 (raw score 75). I know I can do a lot better, but I'm not sure if it's worth the time anymore. I'm a junior, btw, first time taking the SAT. I really want to go to a top univ (HPMS) and I'm not sure if a 2270 is competitive enough...does anybody have any opinions? Any advice will be greatly appreciated as I have to sign up soon for another SAT. Thanks!!

Your score is pretty solid if you ask me. I doubt it's worth retaking. If your other stats are really strong, I wouldn't worry about it.

My stats aren't that great, unfortunately :(
I guess the major things are AP Calc BC (5) and Physics C (3...ugh) as a sophomore. This year I'm taking AP Chem, Stats, Multivariable/diff. eq, and Linear Algebra (at university, I'll probably be taking another math class next semester). I went the the Program in Math for Young Scientists, but that's not a big deal. Bad rank because I moved in 10th grade so credits didn't transfer over (actually it's not horrible: top 7%, but it would have been top 5 if credits transferred), 4.0 gpa. I'll be taking math IIC, chem, and physics sat II in dec or jan. So I don't have any major awards or anything...

Sorry, this looks an awful lot like a chances thread, but I have to sign up for the dec sat sooooonnnn....Thanks!!!

Terrible, terrible stats. Extremely easy classes, ONLY top 7%, 4.0... community college for you, unless you take it again and get a 2400.

Hahaha
But anyone can take Linear Algebra or any of those other classes if they want to...it really isn't a big deal...like I said, no awards, no strong ECs...
A 2270 isn't bad, I know, but I actually studied a lot for CR and I thought I'd get at least a 10 on the essay as I'm not a bad writer...I think I'll retake in January
