Retake SAT?

I got a 2340 on the SAT (740 on Math). Has this dramatically reduced by Ivy chances, and if so, should I retake to improve the Math section?

It won’t make a difference… Your scores are excellent…

This question is ridiculous. Sometimes I think people come here just to advertise their scores. Your 2340 is extremely high and makes you competitive in any Ivy League, including Harvard. Increasing your score by 60 pts won’t increase your chances much because the colleges judge the scores by range. Everything from I believe 2250 to 2400 is considered essentially equal.

If you’re still not convinced, then consider this: If you don’t get into the college you want, your SAT score WON’T be the reason why. So, I’d suggest you focus on improving the other aspects of your application rather than wasting time for a few extra pts that won’t help you. Good luck, and please, for everyone’s sake, do be thankful for your score. There are people in the 2000s and 2100s applying to the same schools as you, wishing they had what you have. To think your score is bad isn’t just an affront to yourself, but to them as well.

If I had a nickel for every time I’ve seen a dumb thread like this on CC, I’d have $1.
