Retake Subject Test or Apply SCEA for Stanford

Hey guys,
I would appreciate some of your honest opinions.

I have a 2340 SAT I and 800 in SAT 2 Biology. However, I have only a 720 in my Math Level 2 subject test because I took it after barely studying for it. But I am going to retake it in November and I am pretty sure that I can get close to, if not an 800.
Unfortunately, Stanford's Early Action does not accept the November test.

I am thinking about applying EA because statistics show that students that do EA have a higher chance of getting in. I also heard that this 720 in Math isn't gonna hurt my chances. But I'm not sure. Will it make a big difference?

So here's the dilemma.
Should I just do early action for Stanford with my 720 in Math?
Or should I do retake the math and apply regular with close to 800?

Those are definitely solid scores. Quite frankly, I would recommend applying early because you have everything to win and nothing to lose. You will most likely either be accepted if not deferred to regular decision of which you can update your file by sending them your november scores once you have them.
Applying early always drastically augments your chances of getting in.

Personally, I think your scores are fine and those are not what will keep you out of Stanford if you are rejected. Nevertheless, you are partly incorrect about Stanford:

For early action you must complete all “required” testing by the Oct test date. If you get everything that is required in, then you are allowed to supplement your file with later scores if they arrive in time to be considered. The importance of this is the following: Stanford DOES NOT REQUIRE SAT II subject test. It recommends them. Thus by Nov 1, you are “required” to send only SAT (or ACT). If you are file is complete, with an SAT, app, recommendations, transcript, you will be considered for early action even without SAT II socres. You can then supplement your file with Nov SAT II scores and those will be considered if they arrive before a decision is made on you. Stanford admission officers have mentioned that you can assure that will occur if, and only if, you name Stanford as one of the colleges to automatically receive scores in your application for the Nov tests. In other words, name it as one of your free sends; you will of course be sending the score blind without knowing what is before it is sent but that is the risk you must assume by taking a test that late.

Thus, if you send in your SAT (and exisiting SAT IIs) now, your file will be deemed complete for EA and then you can supplement it with Nov scores.

concur with drusba. The only program will a 720 be considered ‘low’ is for S-Engineering, and the fact that you aced the SAT-M will show that you are capable. If you are rejected EA, it won’t be due to your test scores.

Thank you so much. This is very very helpful.

@Drusba or anyone else
Can you guys provide me with a link or any outside source that supports your information about the difference between “required” testing due dates and optional ones to supplement my profile?
