Retaking but...

Hi guys.

I plan on retaking the SAT and taking the ACT if I can afford to do so...I am from a low income family so we have to see if I can or not but I was wondering...the soonest test date for the SAT for my area is March 1st and the ACT is in April...I want to do early admissions applications so they need to be by November 30th at the latest.

Do you think if I talk to admissions that they will let me submit the new scores/test later? I have an SAT score of 1350 and I want to get into Carnegie Mellon (which I know is a reach...).

Thanks!

where do you live?? anyway... i'm afraid that's too late. most colleges let early acceptance applicants know whether or not they got in far before mid-march, which is when your scores would come out. i know that colleges accept late SAT scores, but in that context, "late" means a month or two. is there any way you can take the october SAT? or even the november?

Well I can take it October but I decided not to. I talked to my college admissions officer and she said that even thought the college I want to go to is a private school and is very costly that they will accept any SAT scores above 1100 because they are realizing some people just aren't test takers.

She said I have a good chance of getting in...plus I am friends with a very well known former professor so he has offered to write me recommendation letters and anything else I would need :) And I completely forgot about it! lol.

Thanks however!
