So before I entered my community college, I took French 1 to French 4 with all A’s (I was even able to get into French Honor Society). But because I finished French 4 in junior year, I did not take any further French classes my senior year. Now halfway through my first year in college, I decided to retake French because:
1.) I loved French especially since I had taken French from 6th grade to I believe junior or sophomore of middle school and high school.
2.) I wanted to refine and refresh my French speaking abilities
3.) It fulfilled my requirements for humanities
When I first stepped into my French class, my professor had stated that if anyone had taken French class within the last 3 years that this class may not be transferable. Is this true? Should I drop the class? Should I register for another language class? Please give me advice on what to do with this.
Talk to your professor.
If you stepped into a French 1 class, then it is probably too low level for you. You should ask the French instructor what the proper level of French course in college to start in is, based on how much French language you know from high school.
