retaking sat?

I took a 6 week summer prep course for the SAT and it was a pretty rigorous program and brought my score up around 500 points, from 0 experience and an 1800 practice test, to consistent 2200s and 2300s. but when i went to take the actual sat my score dropped 200 points, ended up with a 2100..

when i finished the sat i felt more confident about it than I did after many of my 22/2300s, so i don't know how i managed to make so many mistakes. i stress a lot tho so it could have been my nerves on test day. Also I got a 5 on the ap lang exam last spring, and I'm generally a good writer, but an 8 out of 12 on my sat essay. don't really know what happened

Basically, since the summer course was over a year ago, I do not know if retaking the exam is a good idea. I'm starting college apps and noted a lot of honors colleges require a 1400 cr + m but mine add up to 1390. Not sure what to do, so hopefully those of you with more experience/reason can help me make a decision

Thanks in advance

That happened to my D too. Her first real SAT score was ~200 lower than expected and the retake only brought up ~100. Partly, it was due to the lower than expected essay score which dragged down the writing score. On the other hand, she got her expected ACT score at the first attempt. So she just gave up SAT after the second attempt.

@runnerup‌ Its possible that you were just having an off day on the day of the test, and btw a 2100 is AMAZING
