retaking sat?

I took a 6 week summer prep course for the SAT and it was a pretty rigorous program and brought my score up around 500 points, from 0 experience and an 1800 practice test, to consistent 2200s and 2300s. When I went to take the actual sat, my score dropped 200 points, ended up with a 2100..

I don't know how i managed to make so many mistakes. I stress a lot tho so it could have been my nerves on test day. essay, cr, and math scores were way lower than I was receiving on practice tests. don't really know what happened

Basically, since the summer course was over a year ago, I do not know if retaking the exam is a good idea. I'm starting college apps and noted a lot of honors colleges require a 1400 cr + m but mine add up to 1390. Not sure what to do, so hopefully those of you with more experience/reason can help me make a decision

Thanks in advance

Well if you’re RIGHT below that cutoff, then you should obviously retake it! Since it seems like nerves were your biggest issue, just make sure to not stress this time and see how it goes! You can still register for the October test date, and can also take it in November and even December for some schools if need be. I would recommend just taking a few Blue Book practice tests, going over your areas of weakness, and looking through your notes from the class. Good luck!
