It is not an omen at all. College admissions to a point is a gamble. You have great stats, and so you have a chance. Perhaps you look really similar to other applicants and at Duke they may choose you rather than the other kid. Even if you dont get in, dont sweat it. College is what you make of it and I am sure that you will be fine wherever you end up. Dont let a rejection upset you, it is their loss if they dont accept you. TELL THEM THEY MADE A MISTAKE BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO BE TEH NEXT GREATEST THING IN AMERICA. That is what I tell myself. And I believe in God, so that helps too. Hope this helps and good luck!

I'm kinda wondering myself. I got rejected from Georgetown today, and I'm wondering what kind of an omen that is for my other schools, such as Duke.

Nah, that is in no way an omen. I got a lower score than you (1460 SAT and 4.1 WEIGHTED) and I got into Northwestern today. So, it really is very random. Also, my essays were crap for all schools and I turned them all in on deadline day..

Very random indeed. So not an omen, I assure you.

Oh, thats a movie by Julia Styles (I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE HER...she's my future wife; Mrs Bahamian...hahah)....it was a chick flick in some ways( not ashamed to say i like a chick flick) and a comedy...thats where i feel in love with her. I also like the Majestic with..was it Tom Hanks?...yeh, i think it was Tom Hanks...that was a really interesting movie...and OMG! the Notebook...loved that too.

the notebook was awesome, my brother even cried although hes a wimp...., but i ws really good and touching and stuff, I never saw the majestic though , i love pirates of the carribbean cuz of orlando bloom mostly and pirates, im also a big fan of the chick flick genre although I dont ahve to be ashamed as i am a girl, the best part of 10 things i hate about u is when heath ledger sings to julia stiles on the steps and then she gets him out of detention because that was hilarious.

Yea...my favorite part was when they were at a park throwing baloons filled with paint at each other and finnaly kissed...it was an awesome movie...she is a REALLY good dancer tooo...and SOOOOOOOOOOO PRETTYY!!!!

to the person who asked about ec's...the highlights are:
crew (fall and spring) - 4 years
swimming - 4 years
violin - since i was 4
nhs tutoring program - organizer
comm service - 3 hrs a week 2 years

other random stuff that is less significant tooo...

my hope is that its gonna be like the red sox down 0-3 in the alcs...it all looks bleek, like its over, certain failure....then....BOOOM ortiz puts makes it 3-1 and its all history from there

Well, they are okay i guess, but, when you consider some of the ec's and awards of other applicants...u would be blown away by how fantastic some people are. And, while ur activities are good, they may not have stood a chance with other applicants with the same grades as yours.
