Returning student after many years.

Hi, I am currently 23 and stayed away from school for 3 years because I wasn't doing well, didn't know what I wanted to do, and I couldn't afford it. I'm just curious, how serious will Rutgers take my previous college stats from 2008-2009 when I am doing much better now? By much better, I mean I should have about a 3.7 GPA at Bergen Community College after this semester with 1 more semester to go. Obviously I am shooting for straight A's every semester so that is self-explanatory to go for next semester, too.

bump because I would like to know how a Rutgers student/alum feels about my situation

I think you got a good chance.Admissions know that some people need to take a couple of years off and they like to give you a chance at coming back to higher education. I was at admitted students day at a college and they mentioned adult students and that they give them more leniency when it comes to their credentials. If you look at Ramapo’s website, they have a special page for adult students and the requirements for admission. Good luck!!

They do consider upward grade trends so that is in your favor.
